About Maison Laval

A Swiss furniture house making sofas, beds, dining and lighting in short runs, for rooms that are actually lived in.

Maison Laval designs furniture for rooms that are actually lived in. We started with a single question: why does a sofa that looks considered so rarely feel considered after the first year?

Our answer is a narrow collection, made slowly. Each piece is drawn in Switzerland, prototyped at full scale and sat in for weeks before it is signed off. If a shape only works in a photograph, it does not leave the studio.

What we make

Seating first: sofas, modular systems, lounge chairs and poufs. Then the pieces that hold a room around them: beds, wardrobes, dining tables and lighting. The palette stays deliberately quiet, so pieces bought years apart still belong together.

How we work

We work directly with a small number of workshops and keep the collection small enough to know every seam in it. There is no seasonal churn and no manufactured urgency. A piece stays in the collection for as long as it is the best answer we have.

What that means for the price

Design-house proportions without the design-house premium is not a slogan, it is arithmetic. A short range, direct manufacturing and no network of showrooms to fund. What we save there stays saved for you; it does not come out of the frame or the foam.

Where we are

Maison Laval is Swiss, designs in Switzerland and delivers across the country. Client services are reachable Monday to Friday, 9–17, and answer within one working day.

Company details, including our commercial register entry and VAT number, are listed in the imprint.

  1. 01

    Proportion before decoration

The shape of a piece has to work at the scale of a real apartment before anything is added to it.

  2. 02

    Materials chosen to age

We pick covers and timbers for how they look in year eight, not for how they photograph in week one.

  3. 03

    Comfort you can measure

Seat height, seat depth and foam density are published on every piece, because comfort is a specification, not an adjective.

  4. 04

    Honest delivery and service

A named contact, a delivery window rather than a week, and a repair before a replacement.

Photographs settle the shape.

The room settles everything else. If you can visit the showroom, do.
