Privacy Policy
What is collected when you use this site, why, and how long it is kept. This page is a framework until it has been completed and reviewed by qualified counsel.
This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you use maison-laval.ch and place orders with us. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
1. Controller
Maison Laval, Av. de Pratifori 3, 1950 Sion, Switzerland (full company details in the imprint).
Contact for data protection matters: ac@maison-laval.ch
2. What we process
We process the data you provide when ordering and contacting us: name, address, email address, phone number, order details and delivery information; payment status information from our payment providers (we never receive or store full card details); correspondence with client services; and, if you subscribe, your email address for the newsletter. Technical data such as IP address and device information is processed by Shopify to operate the shop securely.
3. Purposes and legal basis
Processing takes place to perform the contract with you, to comply with statutory obligations (in particular commercial and tax record-keeping), on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the shop, and — for the newsletter — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Recipients and processors
We share data only where necessary to fulfil your order: Shopify and its affiliates (shop platform, hosting and checkout), payment providers (e.g. Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and card acquirers), and delivery partners (name, address and, where needed, phone number for delivery coordination). We do not sell personal data.
5. Transfers abroad
Shopify and some payment providers process data outside Switzerland, including in the USA. Transfers are safeguarded by recognised mechanisms such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses.
6. Retention
Order and billing data is retained for the statutory retention period of 10 years. Support correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format where applicable. Contact us at ac@maison-laval.ch. You may also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
8. Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies are described in the cookie policy. Currently only strictly necessary cookies are in use; no analytics or marketing tools are configured.
9. Security
The shop and checkout are operated on Shopify with transport encryption (TLS) and access controls. We limit access to personal data to what is needed to run the shop.
10. Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The version published on this page applies.
