The Maison

A Small House, on Purpose

Six pieces, one published price and a collection point in Meggen. What a deliberately small house can do, and what it cannot.

Maison Laval is a small house in Sion, in the Valais. We began with rugs because the floor is the surface a room is arranged around, and because it is the one most people settle last.

There are six pieces. That is not a soft launch. It is the size we intend to stay at until a seventh earns its place.

One price, published once

There are no countdowns here and no permanent sale. Where a price has come down, the higher figure is a price we actually charged. That is a smaller promise than most shops make and a much easier one to keep.

A narrow collection is a decision, not a stage we are passing through.

What we can tell you, and what we cannot

Every piece lists its fibre, its backing and its construction. Where we do not yet have a figure confirmed by the maker, the page says so rather than filling the gap with something plausible. Our rugs are made in China, by hand, and we would rather write that plainly than hide it in a footnote.

Sion

There is no showroom yet. From December there will be a small space in Sion where pieces can be seen before they are bought. Until then, anything ordered can be collected here at no delivery cost: we bring the piece in for you and write to you the moment it arrives, with the address.

Delivery anywhere in Switzerland takes about two weeks and is free from CHF 1'500. Thirty days to change your mind, collection included. One person answers the messages, Monday to Friday.

If something here is unclear, the fastest way to a straight answer is to write to us. Send a photograph of the room and you will usually get a size recommendation back the same day.
