Details
Two walnut side panels, a soft pad across the top, and a black steel rod running between them at ankle height. The rod is not decoration: it is what holds the two panels square, and the brushed cap on the outside is simply where it ends.
That is the whole bench. Nothing is hidden and nothing is added, which is why it works as well against a wall as it does out in a room.
Cream or olive, in two lengths: 100 and 120 cm.

Care
Vacuum the pad on a low setting with an upholstery head. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in. Do not rub. Wipe the walnut and the steel rod with a barely damp cloth and dry them afterwards. Check the cap on the tie-rod once a year and tighten it if it has loosened; a bolted joint that works loose is what makes a bench creak.
Warranty
Two years, in line with Swiss statutory warranty. Covered: faults in the side panels, the tie-rod and its fixings, and the upholstery seams. Not covered: normal wear, the foam softening with use, and fading in direct sunlight. Write to us through the contact form with your order number and a photo, and we will sort it out.

What if it arrives damaged?
Inspect the delivery before signing. If anything is wrong, photograph it and contact client services within 48 hours — we will arrange a replacement part, a replacement or a return.

Placing it
Where a chair would be in the way.
At the end of a bed, take the length that stops short of the mattress on both sides rather than matching it exactly. 100 cm suits a 140 cm bed, 120 cm suits a 160 or 180.
In a hallway, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor in front of it so two people can still pass. The seat is 42 cm high, which is normal chair height, so it works for putting on shoes as well as for sitting.
Under a window, keep it off the wall by a few centimetres. The steel base is visible from the side and the gap is what makes it read as furniture rather than as built-in seating.
