Details

One long wave of cream bouclé, lifted at both ends and dropped in the middle, carried on two rounded blocks of walnut. Nothing about it is straight. The seat rolls up into a soft bolster at each end and sinks between them, so the bench holds you without a single cushion, arm or seam that announces itself.

The blocks are set inboard, well short of the ends, which leaves the two rolls floating clear of the floor. It is the detail that makes a heavy shape look light.

The bouclé is a dense loop pile, deep enough to read as texture from across a room. At the foot of the bed, along a hallway, or on its own under a window.

In cream, in three lengths: 100, 120 and 140 cm.

Vacuum on a low setting with an upholstery head. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in. Do not rub. Brush the pile back in one direction after cleaning, so the surface reads evenly. Wipe the walnut feet with a barely damp cloth and dry them afterwards. On a hard floor, felt pads under the feet keep them from marking it.

Warranty

Two years, in line with Swiss statutory warranty. Covered: faults in the frame, the wooden feet and the upholstery seams. Not covered: normal wear, the foam softening with use, and fading in direct sunlight. Write to us through the contact form with your order number and a photo, and we will sort it out.

What if it arrives damaged?

Inspect the delivery before signing. If anything is wrong, photograph it and contact client services within 48 hours — we will arrange a replacement part, a replacement or a return.

Placing it

Where a chair would be in the way.

At the end of a bed, take the length that stops short of the mattress on both sides rather than matching it exactly. 100 cm suits a 140 cm bed, 120 cm suits a 160 or 180.

In a hallway, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor in front of it so two people can still pass. The seat is 42 cm high, which is normal chair height, so it works for putting on shoes as well as for sitting.

Under a window, keep it off the wall by a few centimetres. The steel base is visible from the side and the gap is what makes it read as furniture rather than as built-in seating.
