Details

A soft oval in cream bouclé, held clear of the floor on four slim black legs that taper to a point. The body is one continuous rounded volume with no corners at all; the only line on it is the seam where the padded top meets the base.

The maker lists it as a storage bench, with the top lifting to a compartment inside. We are confirming how the lid is hinged and what the interior measures before we describe it further.

Small enough for the foot of a bed or the end of a hallway, light enough to move with one hand.

Vacuum on a low setting with an upholstery head. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in. Do not rub. Brush the pile back in one direction after cleaning, so the surface reads evenly. Wipe the legs with a dry cloth. Check that they are still firm once or twice a year. On a hard floor, felt pads under the leg tips keep them from marking it.

Warranty

Two years, in line with Swiss statutory warranty. Covered: faults in the inner frame, the legs and their fixings, and the upholstery seams. Not covered: normal wear, the foam softening with use, and fading in direct sunlight. Write to us through the contact form with your order number and a photo, and we will sort it out.

What if it arrives damaged?

Inspect the delivery before signing. If anything is wrong, photograph it and contact client services within 48 hours — we will arrange a replacement part, a replacement or a return.

Placing it

Where a chair would be in the way.

At the end of a bed, take the length that stops short of the mattress on both sides rather than matching it exactly. 100 cm suits a 140 cm bed, 120 cm suits a 160 or 180.

In a hallway, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor in front of it so two people can still pass. The seat is 42 cm high, which is normal chair height, so it works for putting on shoes as well as for sitting.

Under a window, keep it off the wall by a few centimetres. The steel base is visible from the side and the gap is what makes it read as furniture rather than as built-in seating.
