Details

A cream cushion laid into a rounded walnut tray, carried on two turned wooden spheres. The spheres are the piece: they lift the tray just clear of the floor and give a long, flat object a reason to be looked at from the side.

At 35 cm it sits low, lower than a chair. That makes it a bench to put shoes on, to set a tray down on, or to run along the foot of a bed without cutting the room in half.

Three lengths: 100, 120 and 140 cm.

Vacuum the cushion on a low setting with an upholstery head. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in. Do not rub. Wipe the walnut with a barely damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Keep it out of long direct sunlight, which darkens the finish unevenly where the spheres shade the tray. The spheres carry the whole weight on two small contact points. On a soft floor, put felt pads underneath.

Warranty

Two years, in line with Swiss statutory warranty. Covered: faults in the tray, the spheres, the inner frame and the upholstery seams. Not covered: normal wear, the foam softening with use, marks on a floor from the contact points, and fading in direct sunlight. Write to us through the contact form with your order number and a photo, and we will sort it out.

Is it comfortable?

Seat depth of 35 cm with high-resilience foam — deep enough to lounge, supportive enough to sit up in.

Does assembly require tools?

None. The bench arrives assembled; unpack it and set it down.

What if it arrives damaged?

Inspect the delivery before signing. If anything is wrong, photograph it and contact client services within 48 hours — we will arrange a replacement part, a replacement or a return.

How do I clean it?

Placing it

Where a chair would be in the way.

At the end of a bed, take the length that stops short of the mattress on both sides rather than matching it exactly. 100 cm suits a 140 cm bed, 120 cm suits a 160 or 180.

In a hallway, leave at least 90 cm of clear floor in front of it so two people can still pass. The seat is 42 cm high, which is normal chair height, so it works for putting on shoes as well as for sitting.

Under a window, keep it off the wall by a few centimetres. The steel base is visible from the side and the gap is what makes it read as furniture rather than as built-in seating.
